(WRN) -Early absentee voting is now open for the Spring Primary Election.Early absentee voting is now open for the Spring Primary Election. Elections Commission Spokesman Reid Magney says you can now request an absentee ballot from your local clerk's office and in many cases fill out that ballot in the office.
"And on election day, they get opened and processed. And there are witnesses from both political parties there just to ensure that everything is going on correctly."
Magney says you can request an absentee ballot by mail, or in many cases head down your clerk's office and fill out a ballot in person.
"Wisconsin doesn't require any excuse to vote an absentee ballot. Like, you don't don't necessarily have to be out of town, or whatever."
Magney says early voting follows the same rules as voting absentee.
"If an election day itself isn't convenient for you, you can certainly do that, or if you want to do it ahead of time? That's up to you."
Everyone will have a vote for the next State Supreme Court Justice. Northern Wisconsin voters have a primary for the Seventh Congressional district, and many local races have primaries for city or county seats. Find out more online at My Vote dot WI dot Gov.
