USDA December Chickens & Eggs Report

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Wisconsin poultry producers set a new record for the number of eggs their hens laid during December.New figures from the USDA confirm that state egg production reached an all-time high of 200 million eggs, up four percent from last month and up 24 percent more than the same time in 2018. The monthly Chickens and Eggs report says this surpassing the previous record of 193 million eggs produced in November 2019.
The average number of all layers on hand in Wisconsin was 7.95 million in December. That was up two percent from last month and 16 percent over the previous year. Eggs per 100 layers for December were 2,514.
