Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association Names College Scholarship Recipients

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The Baraboo-based Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association has announced the names of this year's college scholarship recipients.The co-op is offering ten $1,000 scholarships for students attending a college or university, and two $750 technical education scholarships. The scholarships are funded by Equity and distributed through Cooperative Network's Federated Youth Foundation. To be eligible, students or their parents are patron members of Equity Livestock. Applicants must have completed at least two semesters at a post secondary college, university or technical school, as well as maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
One local recipient of a $1,000 scholarship is Jillian Tyler of Granton who’s studying agricultural education at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Applicants were judged on their scholastic achievement, extra curricular activities, leadership abilities, academic and personal goals, and an essay summarizing educational goals and future career plans.
