During their meeting, the board reviewed and discussed several possible scenarios for a referendum to exceed the state revenue limit. They then approved going to referendum in April of this year and approved a resolution for the ballot. The resolution reads: “BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board of the School District of Greenwood, Clark County, Wisconsin that the revenues included in the School District budget be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by an additional $150,000 for the 2020-2021 school year, by $1,050,000 for the 2021-2022 school year, by $1,100,000 for the 2022-2023 school year, by $1,150,000 for the 2023-2024 school year and by $1,200,000 for the 2024-2025 school year for non-recurring purposes.” Finally, the board approved the resolution providing for a referendum election on the question of the approval of a resolution authorizing the school district budget to exceed revenue limit for five years for non-recurring purposes on Election Day April 7th, 2020.

In other board news, the board approved several donations including $1,500 from the Hastings Mutual Insurance Company Charitable Foundation, $1,500 from Dallman Insurance for the NOW Program, $1,009 from Main Focus Nutrition to be shared by the elementary and high school for special projects or student needs and, to be shared by both schools, a gift donation for the Santa Project from Tricor Insurance. They board also approved a Science Club trip to Duluth on January 30th and 31st and a FMLA request from Lori Cooper. Finally, during the communication from the public portion of the meeting, a community member asked about fund balance, the need for a referendum and the hope to see districts cooperating more.
