Updates From The Granton Village Board

The Granton Village Board discussed the village’s dump truck at their meeting on Wednesday.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, an action on the item is on hold until some specs can be put together. The board also heard an update from the Village Clerk. She submitted the Tobacco License, completed the 4th quarter 941 reconciliation and the Federal, State and WRS payments were made. She also stated W-2s and 1099s are complete, the year-end will be reconciled by the end of the week and she continues to process the audit information. They also received a thank you note from Jay Parker saying how nice it was to see the Christmas decorations in town. Also, the Election is scheduled for February 18th and the new election equipment is arriving this month and the county has paid for this equipment. Training is scheduled for Thursday January 30th.
Finally, the annual tourism meeting is scheduled for April 22nd and booths are $75. Last year the county had a big display for all the villages and townships to put up displays. Finally, Excel repaired the light that was out on Clark and 2nd. Finally, the board heard the Treasurer’s Report.
The Deposit and Expense report was presented. The Checking balance is $233,084.23, the Money Market balance is $498,070.69, the Cemetery CD is $16,927.29, the CDBG balance is $56,799.05, and the Library balance is $23,225.40. Utility and Tax collection is in full force and the January settlement was completed. Settlement checks were issued to the county for $31,804.43, to the Granton School for $41,774.33 and Mid State Tech for $3,825.93.
