State Elections Commission Deadlocks on Voter Roll Purge Proposal

(WRN) -The state Elections Commission on Tuesday deadlocked, on a proposal to re-send a mailing to voters who may have moved.The six member commission deadlocked in a contentious party-line vote, blocking a proposed May mailing and keeping a 2021 voter roll purge schedule in place pending a decision by 4th District Court of Appeals. The Appeals Court on Monday stayed Ozaukee County Judge Paul Malloy's order for the commission to deactivate those voters' registrations.
The appeals court also put on hold Judge Paul Malloy's contempt citation and the accompanying fines for failing to comply with his December order.
