The Wisconsin Beef Council has launched a program that helps high school teachers strengthen their lessons about beef selection and preparation with their students.According to Wisconsin Ag Connection, it's called the 'Beef in the Classroom' grant program, in which agriculture and family & consumer science instructors can apply for reimbursement of $100 to $300 per school per year to cover the cost of such efforts. As part of the program guidelines, only beef products may be purchased with the money.
And those products may only be used in a classroom or lab setting, and not for the purpose of school social functions. For more information or to apply contact the Wisconsin Beef Council at 608-833-9944.
