Rising Flu Cases Keeping Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Busy

(WRN) -Rapidly-escalating numbers of flu cases are keeping Wisconsin hospitals and clinics very busy.Children’s Wisconsin in Wauwatosa reports its emergency department set a new record for visits during December. Final numbers aren’t in, but it’s estimated at around 85-hundred - a figure 20 percent higher than any month in the past. Doctors say that hospital had about 50 confirmed cases of flu by this date last year.
This time it's closing in on one-thousand. At Aurora’s urgent care clinic in Racine wait times were reported reaching five-and-a-half hours Monday due to patient volume.
