Clark County Health Department's Immunization Clinics, First Clinic of 2020 on New Monthly Schedule this Wednesday

Monday, January 6th, 2020 -- 8:40 AM

-Immunizations, also called vaccinations, are one of the greatest achievements in public health. Vaccines prevent disease in people who receive them.

Additionally, if enough people in the community are vaccinated, the entire community can be protected because there is little opportunity for an outbreak to occur. Vaccinations are the best way to prevent diseases and the serious effects they can cause. The Clark County Health Department holds an immunization clinic once a month at the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center in Owen. Effective January 1st, the CCHD will be holding the regularly scheduled immunization clinic on the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 3:00-4:00PM in the Multi-Purpose Room/Gym. We will no longer be holding the clinic on the 3rd Monday of every month. The first of the 2020 CCRLC immunization clinic dates will be this Wednesday, January 8th. The others will be on February 12, March 11, April 8, May 13, June 10, July 8, August 12, September 9, October 14, November 11, and December 9. All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Your child may qualify to receive vaccines at no charge, but donations are welcome. If your child is under the age of 19 and meets at least one of the following eligibility criteria, they can receive vaccines at no charge. They are Medicaid, Badgercare, eligible: Either Medicaid-eligible and Medicaid-enrolled; they are uninsured: They have no health insurance; they are American Indian or Alaska Native: As defined by the Indian Health Care Improvement Act; and they are under insured: They have health insurance, but the coverage does not include vaccines, or only covers selected vaccines. They are only eligible to receive vaccines through a Federal Qualified Health Center, or a Rural Health Clinic.
