Dollar General Coming Back to Marshfield, But Losing Family Video/Marco's Pizza

(Marshfield News Herald) -Shoppers in Marshfield will soon have a new Dollar General store, although they are losing the Marco's Pizza and Family Video.Dollar General will replace the Family Video-Marco's Pizza joint location at 707 N. Central Ave., representatives for Dollar General and Family Video said. Construction on the Dollar General should begin "within the coming weeks," the representative said. The store will employ six to 10 people. Job applications are available online. This will be the only Dollar General store in Marshfield. The company had opened a store in mid-2004 at 1302 N. Central Ave., the future site of Pizza Ranch near the former Shopko department store. However, that location later closed. The company's other nearby locations are in Spencer and Stratford, according to its website. Separately, there is a Dollar Tree in Marshfield. Family Video will close Jan. 16, District Manager Doug Seefeldt said. The last day to check out rentals is Dec. 31.
Marco's Pizza, in the same building as Family Video, has already closed. A recorded voice message for the business says the location is no longer open for business. The Marshfield location was one of Marco's Pizza's last in central Wisconsin, after the one in Wisconsin Rapids closed in April. There are still locations in Oshkosh, Green Bay, Appleton and La Crosse, according to the company's website. Marco's Pizza opened in Marshfield in May 2017 next to the Family Video. Customers could have pizza delivered along with movie and video game rentals. Aside from pizza, the restaurant also offered sub sandwiches, salads and more.
