HIGH SPEED CHASE ENDS WITH MELROSE MAN IN HOSPITAL

A 21-year-old Melrose man remained hospitalized over the weekend after crashing his vehicle after a high-speed chase. A Jackson County Sheriff?s deputy spotted Andrew Scholze?s vehicle deviating in its lane of traffic. A chase ensued with Scholze?s vehicle traveling over 100 mph. Both vehicles eventually traveled into La Crosse County where the deputy lost sight of Scholze, only to come across him again after the man crashed his vehicle. Scholze was airlifted to a medical facility in La Crosse. He is facing a felony charge of ?fleeing an officer? as well as DWI and miscellaneous traffic offenses.
