Marshfield Woman Sentenced for Drug Overdose Death

-A Marshfield woman found guilty of homicide for selling fentanyl-laced heroin to a 22-year-old Spencer man was sentenced on Tuesday.According to court records, Cassandra Staab, who was already facing eight drug related charges when the incident occurred, sold the heroin to Thomas Bychinski which resulted in his death on January 31st of 2017. An autopsy determined that fentanyl was in his system.
After a week long jury trial back in September, Staab was found guilty of 1st degree reckless homicide and 1st degree recklessly endangering safety. She was sentenced to 12 years in prison and 13 years of extended supervision.
