(WRN) -Lawyers for the Wisconsin Election Commission say they plan to appeal a decision to take more than 200-thousand people off the voter rolls.A judge in Port Washington Friday ruled that the Election Commission was wrong to give 234-thousand voters more than 30 days to correct their address or tell local election managers that they had not moved. The judge says the Election Commission doesn’t have that power.
The League of Women Voters and other advocates are accusing the judge of disenfranchising voters. The Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty says the ruling is about forcing elections officials to obey the law.
