Sunday, December 15th, 2019 -- 5:39 AM

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday.

Elementary Principal Lance Batchelor reported on the annual elementary food drive which collected over 1,200 food items that were donated to the local food pantry. The Action Club completed a project that made Christmas ornaments to give to local business and organizations. This year, they expanded the project to include residents at the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center. Thank you to Mrs. Grimes and Mrs. Lawcewicz for leading this effort. The athletes from UWGB will return to visit the elementary on January 20th. They will spend part of the day with elementary students as part of a community service project. District Administrator Bob Houts read Middle/High School Dean of Students Julie Van Ark’s report. She stated in her report that the band and choir concert will be held on Monday, December 16th at 7:00 PM.

The 7th grade students will be performing their annual version of A Christmas Carol everyday, except Wednesday, the week of Dec. 16-20 at 8:00 AM. Also, sixth graders had their Grandparents day on Friday, December 6. Fifty-Eight grandparents ate pie and shared some with their grandchildren. Finally, Mr. Houts shared a comparison of the tax levies and mil rates of area districts. OW has the second lowest mil rate and the third lowest levy of the nine districts included. And, during an executive session, two students discipline issues were discussed in the closed session.
