Granton Village Board Hears Several Reports

-The Granton Village Board heard the Water and Sewer Reports at their meeting on Wednesday.

According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the reports stated the Christmas lights have been put up, scrap iron was taken to the yard, they did snow removal, sewer lines were videotaped to access their condition and the sewer lines were jetted. They also stated there was a clog in pond one could not be unplugged and they discharged the waste water ponds from November 1st until November 22nd. Also, the Annual Phosphorus report is complete and a new check valve was ordered for Well 5. The board also heard an update from the clerk. The levy was submitted, mill rates were set and tax bills were printed and sent out. She said the audit prep continues and she sent a get well card to the mayor of Neillsville. The board heard the Treasurer’s Report. The Deposit and Expense report was presented. The checking balance is $250,382.20, the money market balance is $442,803.06, the cemetery CD is $16,927.29, the CDBG balance is $56,876.68, and the library balance is $29,620.61.

The board also review and signed the Audit Representation letter and the Caucus will be held on January 15th at 6:30pm at the Village Hall. The Board meeting will directly follow and will be held at the Village Office. Finally, during the open forum portion of the meeting, they heard an update on the new medical campus here in Neillsville. The construction has begun and the estimated completion is spring of 2021. There is a Capital Campaign started to raise funds to the YMCA that will be located in the new hospital. There is a donation drive currently underway. And if an upcoming event arises Granton may opt to host an informational meeting.
