(WRN) -Legislation to regulate hazardous “forever chemicals” in Wisconsin is closer to becoming law.The chemical compounds known as PFAS have been found in drinking water across the state. The Assembly Environment Committee voted Wednesday to approve a bill to allow the use of firefighting foams containing PFAS only in emergency fire response or in testing areas that the Department of Natural Resources determines have “appropriate containment, treatment, and disposal measures.”
