(WRN) -House Democrats are drafting Articles of Impeachment against the President and Wisconsin's Representatives are weighing in.Democrat Congressman Ron Kind says he'll be taking the Articles of Impeachment against the President seriously when they come up for a vote. Kind says it's the duty of Congress to maintain checks and balances.
"The Congress is the only institution that makes sure that the Executive Branch and the President particular abides by the law and doesn't place themselves above that, or abuse the public's trust."
Kind says he believes the Articles are strong enough to send to the Senate.
"And I can hope that we can all agree that at the end of the day that any elected official soliciting a foriegn government's interference to meddle in our election process is way out of bounds."
Republican Congressman Mike Gallagher disagrees and says Democrats aren't even charging the President with a crime anymore.
"And so you're left with this nebulous first article of impeachment which I don't think is going anywhere."
Kind says it's something that has to be done. Kind says the two Articles lay out a precedent that no one is above the law.
"It cannot become the new normal, and really what these allegations are all about.")
Gallagher says it's all a power play by Democrats.
"There is a substantial portion that has wanted to impeach the President and remove him office since day one."
Kind says this is less a matter of disliking Trump and more about holding a line and ensuring that Presidents are following the rule of law.
