Durst Completes GM World Class Certification

Sunday, December 1st, 2019 -- 9:49 AM

A Black River Falls Gross Motors employee has completed the GM World Class Certification.

Zac Durst didn’t always work on cars; it wasn’t like he grew up tinkering on vehicles. Durst went to Western Technical College in La Crosse, a two-year program then for auto technician. He worked at Tires Plus while he was in school. After school, he worked at Osseo Ford working on diesel ambulances. In 2014, Durst started worked at Gross in Black River Falls. In September of 2018, Durst began the certification training, which involved a lot of time away from home in different cities for a year. He finished the program in August of this year. Durst became certified in steering suspensions, engine repair, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), brakes, electrical-electronics, diesel engine performance, automatic transmissions, manual transmissions and drive train.

In addition to the GM certification, Durst has passed all nine of ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) testing and L1, which is advanced engine performance. He has also completed training for Hybrids and traveled to Chicago during the week for training specific to Chryslers. Durst and his wife Andrea live with their two-year-old son Sterling in Hixton.
