BURNING RESTRICTIONS EXTENDED TO NEW COUNTIES

The DNR has extended its burning ban to include 17 new counties bringing the total to 37 counties under burning restrictions.Nearly the entire WCCN listening area is included in this ban, but not every township in these counties is affected. Citizens should check with local officials in their area to learn of specific hours and precautions.
To date, the Department of Natural Resources-Division of Forestry has responded to 452 fires that have burned nearly 1,239 acres. In the Black River Falls area, which includes a good chunk of western and southern Clark County, fire danger is listed as ?very high?. So far this year, 38 wildfires have burned nearly 100 acres in this area.
