(WRN) -Expect to see plenty of hunters out in Wisconsin's woods and fields for deer season next week.D N R Customer services director Kimberly Currie says sales for licenses are nearly the same as last year.
"As of the last report we've pulled within 490-some licenses of where we were on the exact same day last year."
As of Sunday, total license sales are just about 500 fewer than the same time last year. Customer services director Kimberly Currie says one surprising item this year is the move to crossbow licenses for many hunters.
"Crossbow licenses that we have sold so far this year have outpaced the crossbow license that we sold all of last year."
If you're still looking to get your deer license, you're not alone. Currie says their busiest day of sales is always the Friday right before the gun season starts. That's this Saturday.
