Granton Village Board Discusses New Dump Truck

-The Granton Village Board discussed replacing a dump truck at their meeting last week.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the board is beginning to plan for the replacement of the 1993 Ford Dump Truck. Gross Motors quoted a Chevy 1 ton dump truck with box and plow at $53,500, with the municipal discount. A 3-year leasing options was investigated and would require a down payment of $11,125.55. This includes title and registration. The monthly payment for the next 3 years would be $775.55. At the end of the 3-year lease, they have the option of purchasing the dump truck for $20,500. The village will get a 2nd quote from V & H and discuss further at the next board meeting. The board also heard the Water Report. The Bac T sample came back positive for coliform bacteria. Three more samples were required to show that the sample was a fluke. All samples came back clear. Also, the equipment was prepped for winter, they completed the fall clean up and meter testing and replacement at several residences was also completed.
The board also heard the Sewer Report. Fall discharge has begun and they closed up the park for winter. The ball diamond was seeded with winter rye, they worked with Xcel Energy to run new electric lines and they purchased plow blades and salt for winter and bought a new battery for the F350. Finally, the board heard the Treasurer’s Report. The Deposit and Expense report was presented. The checking balance is $93,529.92. The money market balance is $442,446.68, the cemetery CD is $16,927.29, the CDBG balance is $57,566.65, and the library balance is $30,421.89.
