Two Dozen Teachers Now Finalists for Crystal Apple Awards

(WDLB) -Two dozen area teachers are now finalists for this year’s Crystal Apple Awards from the Marshfield Area Chamber Foundation. The 24 “Teachers of Distinction” were surprised with the announcements in their classrooms on Wednesday.The list includes 14 Marshfield teachers, including Patricia Silva and Beth Weiland of Columbus Catholic. Also on the list from Marshfield are Renee Hammond of Immanuel Lutheran, Michelle Korth of Trinity Lutheran, Rebecca Whitrock and Jaki Winch of Grant Elementary, Brian Fravert of Lincoln, Katelyn Vroman of Madison, Kelly Voss of Nasonville, April Daul from Washington Elementary, Becky Linzmeier and Kimberly Kolstad of the Marshfield Middle School and Melissa Stockheimer and Chuck Treankler of Marshfield High School. Other Teachers of Distinction include Jenny Werner from St. Joseph’s in Stratford, Whitney Eckes and Saydi Olson of Spencer, Ty Natzke and Chauncey Jones of Pittsville, Loralei Berry and Mark Cournoyer of Auburndale, Michelle Erickson and Jenny Hafermann of Greenwood and Bethany Franklin of Granton.
The Marshfield Chamber received one-thousand-171 nominations for 310 different teachers. Qualifying nominees were placed on a ballot and teachers voted on their top candidate at each of the schools. From the 24 individuals, four will receive top honors as Crystal Apple winners to be announced in early March. All 24 Teachers of Distinction will be honored at a banquet on Wednesday, April 29 at Hotel Marshfield.
