Clark County Workforce Resource Holds Quarterly Meeting

-The Clark County Workforce Resource held their quarterly meeting Monday morning with their various partners throughout the county.The new Gateways Counseling center was highlighted to begin the meeting. They also discussed the traffic the Workforce Resource Center sees. Since the last meeting, they’ve had 7,348 new and returning customers come through the center. They also went over some employment numbers for the county. Clark County has 377 jobs available, with another 247 available in the near future. They also went over some economic numbers for Clark County from the Department of Workforce Development. They also touched on FSET numbers, the WIOA program and Senior Employment. The group also heard from Social Services regarding their Energy Assistance Program and Transportation programs.
Finally, the group discussed the dire situation farmers are in, youth apprenticeships, the Clark County Business-to-Business Expo and Career Fair coming up in April of 2020, the Neillsville Food Pantry’s new location, the Backpack Program, the House of Mercy and 2nd Chance Thrift Store, other homeless shelters, the NewStart Program for those recently released from jail and some new in regards to the Marshfield Clinic and their services.
