Marshfield Area Pet Shelter Holds 9th Annual Breakfast Fundraiser
Tuesday, November 5th, 2019 -- 9:40 AM
-Marshfield Area Pet Shelter hosted its 9th breakfast fundraiser on Sunday. The annual breakfast was moved from its traditional date in February to November in an effort to avoid the inclement weather that has plagued the fundraiser in the last few years. Held at The Holiday Inn, more than 850 people attended the breakfast to enjoy scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, muffins, coffee, orange juice, milk, and lots of great breakfast food prepared by Chef Doug. There were also MAPS’ popular raffle baskets and other fun opportunities to help local animals. At the breakfast, MAPS' staff and volunteers shared more about MAPS’ 2020 plans, including new developments toward a permanent facility.
The event raised $12,400. Funds raised at this breakfast will help support the day-to-day operations at MAPS’ intake facility and adoption center. Every year, MAPS helped hundreds of local animals find forever homes, thanks to the support of the local community. Event sponsors included Thrivent Financial and Bushman Dairy, with many other local businesses helping as placemat sponsors. Marshfield Area Pet Shelter is a 501(c)3 non-profit volunteer-based organization actively engaged in raising funds to build a humane shelter for the greater Marshfield area.
MAPS is currently operating in a temporary home on West 29th Street in the former airport terminal building and at an Adoption Center within Marshfield Mall. Construction on a new shelter on 3500 Downwind Drive began in September. For more information, please visit www.MarshfieldPetShelter.org or call 715-486-5140.
