New Study Shows Wisconsin's Youth Using Alcohol at Rates Well Above National Average

(WRN) -A new national study shows Wisconsin young people using alcohol at rates well above the national average.Research by US Drug Test Centers, a company which provides drug testing nationwide, found that Wisconsin ranks 42nd for cocaine use by those ages 18-to-25, 31st for marijuana use for those ages 12-to-17, and 10th for alcohol use for those ages 12-to-20. The most recent data from two federal agencies (the Department of Health and Human Services and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) shows just over 23 percent using alcohol, and 11 percent binge drinking.
Nationally, youth alcohol use has dropped sharply over the last decade, to 9-and-a-half percent.
