Black River Falls Fire Department Responds to Garage Fire

-The Black River Falls Fire Department responded to a garage fire on Monday.According to the department, they received the call around 11:45am of a fire in an unattached garage at N9193 Wren Lane in the Town of Adams in Jackson County. When they arrived, there was heavy smoke and visible flames. The cause is under investigation, but the department is looking at a chimney pipe thimble. The structure and its contents received heavy damage and it appears to be a total loss.
One fire fighter was treated for fatigue, but there were no other injuries. The department received assistance from the Hatfield and Merrillan Fire Department and they were all on scene just over 2 hours. They also received assistance from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Jackson Electric and Black River Emergency Medical Service.
