GOVERNOR ANNOUNCES NEW PRESCRIPTION PROGRAM

Wisconsin residents who lack access to affordable prescription drugs will be able to enroll in a state purchasing pool to buy medications at lower prices.The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel said the BadgerRX Gold Card program will be available to individuals for a $25 annual enrollment fee, and to families of four or more for $75 under a program Gov. Jim Doyle was set to announce today in La Crosse and Appleton. The newspaper quoted Doyle as saying participants could save 25 percent to 40 percent on drugs, depending on the price negotiated with the drug manufacturer.
