Owen-Withee School Board Hears Administrators' Reports

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting last week.Elementary Principal Lance Batchelor reported on Parent/Teacher Conferences and the Scholastic Book Fair completed last week. He mentioned the PBIS reward day held on Oct. 17th and the pacing calendars for the ARC Reading Program teachers developed during that time. Kid’s Club started October 24th and run every Tuesday and Thursday until spring. Family Night was held on Tuesday, October 22nd. Thanks to Mrs. Westaby for getting Mr. Chris Peterson to be the presenter and to Forward Bank and Withee A&W for helping with financial donations. Finally, the Smoke House was sponsored by the O-W-C Fire Department this week and gave students an opportunity to learn about fire safety in the home.
Middle/High School Dean of Students Julie Van Ark notified the board about he One-Act play qualifying for sectionals on Tuesday, October 29th in Eau Claire, the National FFA Conference in Indianapolis coming up the end of October and Matthew Fischer will be performing in the National Choir. Fall Sports are wrapping up with winter sports set to begin. District Administrator Bob Houts reported on the Focus on Energy Benchmark results they received on their energy use. They rate very high on the report, showing that they use considerably less energy that comparable buildings their size.
