-An Athens man charged for repeated sexual assault of a child appeared in Marathon County Court on Wednesday.According to court records, Brandon Langreck assaulted a girl, under the age of 16, three times between the end of January and the end of April in the Village of Spencer. Langreck was out on bond on another assault charge and wasn’t supposed to have contact with anyone under the age of 21. He’s being charged with repeated sexual assault of a child and three counts of bail jumping. During a court appearance in May, a competency hearing was ordered and in June Langreck was found not competent and his case was suspended.
However, future court dates have been set to see if he could regain some level of competency to be tried for the incident. At his appearance on Wednesday, he was still found not competent and a future court date will be set to re-evaluate his mental status.
