(WRN) -A deadline to implement drug screening requirements for certain FoodShare recipients in Wisconsin has come and gone. The October 1st deadline was included in legislation approved under former Republican Governor Scott Walker's administration. But three weeks later, the state Department of Health Services under Democratic Governor Tony Evers has yet to act. DHS didn't indicate in a Monday email to "The Cap Times" that the department has a timeline for doing so.
DHS also has yet to submit a report or any updates to the Legislature's Joint Committee on Finance, on plan to put the drug screening in place, as also required.
