Man Shot While Fleeing Officers Appears in Marathon County Court

-A man who was shot while fleeing police in his vehicle appeared in Marathon County Court on Tuesday.The officer-involved shooting took place back in May at a residential motel north of Highway 29, on Highway 13 in the Abbotsford area. Officers were called to investigate Dan Willison, who fled the scene in his vehicle upon contact and hit an officer. An officer of the Colby-Abbotsford Police Department then fired his service weapon, striking the subject, who continued to flee. After a pursuit by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Colby-Abbotsford Police Department, and Marathon County Sheriff’s Office, Willison fled on foot and was apprehended.
After life-saving measures, the subject was transported to a hospital for treatment. Willison is facing charges of 1st-degree recklessly endangering safety, 3 counts of bail jumping, vehicle operator flee/elude officer, OWI, operating with a PAC and operating while revoked. During his court appearance on Tuesday, he entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him.
