Neillsville City Council Hears Finance Committee Reports

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Finance Committee Reports at their meeting on Tuesday.The city’s Finance Committee has been hard at work preparing the budget for next year. The council heard the reports from October 1st, October 3rd and October 7th. At each meeting, they went over the budgets of various departments and then had to make the tough decision of where things would be cut from the budget. The budget saw a total of $183,826 cut from various areas. In the end, the city will see $3,602,425 for total expenditures and contingency. They will see a total revenue of $2,101,472 with $349,803 applied to that from the general fund, coming to a total of $2,451,275.
The proposed city levy is $1,151,150, but minus computer state aid, which is $4,113, comes to $1,147,037 before the TIF districts are added in. With the TIF Districts amount, which comes to $57,300, the total net city levy is $1,204,337. The Annual Budget Hearing is set for 7:15 on Tuesday, November 12th during the regular common council meeting.
