WISCONSIN GAS PRICES BREAK RECORD
Tuesday, March 22nd, 2005 -- 11:07 AM
The average price for a gallon of unleaded gas in Wisconsin reached two dollars 14 cents today, another record. It beats the state's previous record set in June of last year. Nationwide gas prices soared over 12 cents during the past two weeks to reach a record high.
More sticker shock at the pumps is expected in the days ahead. The Lundberg Survey of seven-thousand gas stations across the country says prices should continue to rise in the next few weeks on strong demand and supply problems caused by the transition to cleaner-burning gas mixtures as summer approaches.
