Marshfield School Board Approves 2020-21 Calendar

(WDLB) -Marshfield High School's class of 2021 can start planning for a Saturday graduation.The Board of Education last night approved a calendar for the 2020-21 school year that puts graduation at 11:00 a.m. on May 29 of 2021, or the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Superintendent Dr. Ryan Christianson said it will cap off a strange year calendar-wise that has school starting a full week before Labor Day. Christianson said the days of the traditional Sunday afternoon graduation are not necessarily over, but will no longer be the "norm" either.
The current school year's graduation day is Sunday, May 31 of 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Also last night, the board got final open enrollment figures for the current school year. 313 area students used school choice to opt in to the Marshfield School District, while 130 students opted out, for a net gain of 183.
