Wisconsin's August All Milk Price

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The Wisconsin all milk price for August was $19.10 per hundredweight, according to the latest USDA Agricultural Prices report.That's 30-cents higher than last month's price and $2.80 more than last year. The U.S. all milk price was $18.90 per cwt, 20-cents lower than Wisconsin's price, but up 20-cents more than last month. The USDA says 22 of the 24 major milk producing states had a higher price when compared with July. Meanwhile, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange 40-pound block cheese price closed at $1.95 per pound on September 27, while barrels were $1.65 per pound.
The CME butter price was $2.14 per pound. For the week ending September 21, the Agricultural Marketing Service U.S. weekly 40-pound block cheese price averaged $1.99 per pound, and 500 pound barrels adjusted to 38 percent moisture averaged $1.82 per pound. The U.S. butter price was $2.26 per pound.
