Mixed Commodity Prices for August

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The average price received by farmers for corn in Wisconsin during August was $3.89 per bushel.

According to the latest USDA Agricultural Prices report, that was down nine cents from July, but up 54-cents from the previous August. Soybeans averaged $8.25 per bushel, down six cents from July and 45-cents lower than last year. The oat price was $3.03 per bushel, four cents less than the previous month, but 43 cents more than last August.

All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $170.00 per ton in August, up $15.00 from July and $48.00 above August 2018. The alfalfa hay price averaged $192.00 per ton, $25.00 more than last month and $58.00 above last year. The other hay price averaged $112.00, down $13.00 from July 2018, but up $21.00 from the August 2018 price.
