Congressman Kind Pushes Back on Impeachment Inquiry

Friday, September 27th, 2019 -- 9:43 AM

(WRN) -As Republicans and conservative media outlets continue to deny the President did anything wrong, Democrats are pushing back.

Congressman Ron Kind spoke to WRDN…

"I don't care who the occupant of the White House is, you cannot be soliciting foreign governments to meddle in our election process. It's against the law, it's unethical, and it's wrong. And I don't know what part of this lesson the president refuses to learn. No one wants to, I certainly don't want to impeach a president of the United States. It's an ugly, brutal process. But I also have a constitutional obligation to make sure that laws are being followed and the Constitution is being complied with."

Kind says the allegations are an extremely serious matter.

Because all facts to point to fact that the President of the United States was strong-arming another foreign leader to directly meddle in our election process. And then he attempted to cover it up. By hiding the phone conversation - they call it 'deep cover' in the White House, where you separate that from other recordings. They were withholding the whistle blower complaint for well over a month, when they were required by law to turn it over within seven days. He was withholding military aid. Aid that the Congress had already passed and appropriated, and the president directed his chief of staff Mick Mulvany to not release that military aid. And then there were certain communications to the Ukrainian president that he has to (quote-unquote) 'play ball. Play ball.'"

But House Republican Glenn Grothman, in an interview with WOMT on Wednesday, said the impeachment inquiry is a "liberal attack" on the President.
