Thursday, September 26th, 2019 -- 11:04 AM
-The Greenwood City Council heard a report from the Personnel Committee at their meeting last week.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the committee approved adding section “O” under Paid Time Off. An employee must exhaust all of his/ her PTO before he/ she is able to use gifted PTO from other employees. No gifted PTO may be paid out to the recipient or carried over into the new year. Collectively an employee may be gifted no more than 80 hours of PTO in a given year. The hours will be transferred 1-1. Gifted hours will revert back to the original employee if the recipient employee’s employment with the City of Greenwood is terminated for any reason. The committee also approved the hiring process to allow the Police Department to sponsor a new hire through Recruit Academy.
The committee approved allowing an employee to request two weeks leave of absence, to be taken one week at a time. Leave will be unpaid per normal Leave of Absence guidelines, but the city will continue to cover the city’s portion of the health insurance and employee to cover remainder of premium share normally paid by the employee. Leave must be approved by the supervisor and taken in 2019. Leave cannot be used until all PTO, including gifted PTO, has been exhausted.
