Black River Falls Man Sentenced for Drug Charges

-A Black River Falls man arrested after drugs and a gun were found in his vehicle was sentenced in Jackson County Court on Tuesday.According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, back in April of 2018, Jonathan Barhyte was pulled over for speeding. Authorities said that Barhyte seemed nervous and he admitted that he had taken drugs. Deputies searched his car and found bags of meth, marijuana, a digital scale and a loaded gun. Barhyte pleaded guilty to a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and possession with intent-amphetamine.
Two other charges were dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to 5 years of probation. He was also given an imposed and stayed sentence of 3 years in prison and 4 years of extended supervision, meaning if he fails his probation, he’ll serve that time.
