Thorp Man Charged in Federal Court for Drug Charges

(Marshfield News Herald) -A Clark County man was charged Thursday in federal court with having 50 grams or more of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.The indictment alleges Keith Strong, 49, of Thorp had the meth June 30, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. Officials said if convicted Strong faces a mandatory minimum penalty of five years and a maximum of 40 years in federal prison. The charge is the result of an investigation by the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Chadwick Elgersma is handling the prosecution. Strong is still facing possession and obstruction charges in Chippewa County and is scheduled to be back in court on October 8th.
