Marshfield Outdoor Aquatics Center Campaign Committee Launches Capital Campaign

(Hub City Times) -The Marshfield Outdoor Aquatics Center Campaign Committee, co-chaired by Bob McManus, Kara McManus, Ben Lee and Ruwan Dissanayake, has launched the capital campaign for a new outdoor aquatics facility that will replace the current Hefko Pool in Marshfield.The total cost of the new facility is $6,000,000. The city of Marshfield’s Common Council has made the initial commitment of $3,000,000 as a community challenge grant; they will match all gifts, dollar for dollar, up to that amount. The Parks and Recreation Department; the city of Marshfield; the Marshfield Area Community Foundation, as a community partner; and volunteers have developed plans to make this project come to fruition and say there is very strong support throughout the community. The group says that more than $500,000 has been received from initial donors including the JP Adler family, Dennis and Roberta DeVetter, and Prevention Genetics.
The new outdoor aquatic center will be located at the same Hefko site and have amenities for the entire community, three slides, two diving boards, a climbing wall, basketball hoops, zero depth entry, a play structure, a full concession stand, family changing rooms, private changing stalls, a reservable shelter, a game area party room, lazy river current channel, grass area, shade structures, and plenty of lounge chairs.
