-A man arrested after a high-speed chase in Black River Falls appeared in Jackson County Court on Wednesday.According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, back in July, deputies tried to pull over a vehicle, but the vehicle fled. The vehicle reached speeds of 90mph on city streets and over 130 mph on the highway. The vehicle was driven by Jeremy Peters. Theresa Hindsley was a passenger in the vehicle. Eventually, Peters did crash the vehicle and he was arrested after a foot pursuit. Peters was charged with 2nd-degree recklessly endangering safety, driving or operating a vehicle without consent, vehicle operator fleeing/eluding an officer, resisting or obstructing an officer and operating while revoked.
During his preliminary hearing, probable cause was found so his court proceeding will continue. He entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him and he’s scheduled to be back in court October 9th. Hindsley was supposed to appear in Jackson County Court for the charges against her in this incident on August 26th, but she failed to do so. A bench warrant is out for her arrest.
