Saturday, September 14th, 2019 -- 7:09 AM

The Greenwood School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday.

Elementary Principal Joe Green provided a review of start of the school year. Kids Club is off to a very strong start with over 50 students registered. Also, teachers are using iReady to establish baselines for the school year and the major curriculum areas to be addressed this year are 9-12 English and 7-12 Science. District Administrator Tod Felhofer reported classes were off to a great start at the high school, district enrollment is up around 25 students and 7th Grade Orientation was held during the Open House night, which seemed to work very well. He also stated Homecoming Week is September 22nd-28th and Crystal Apple Kick-off is September 24th at 8:15 am in both schools.

He also stated there has been an increase in the news coverage and discussion of the use of Native American names/mascots by state high schools, he reminded board members about the Annual Meeting on Monday, September 23rd at 7:30 pm in the Cafetorium and the next regular School Board Meeting is Monday October 14th at 7pm in the board room. Finally, a CESA 10 report was given and it was mentioned that two board members will be attending a couple of WASB events in the coming weeks.
