Neillsville City Council Approved The City's Garbage/Recycling Contract

The Neillsville City Council approved the city’s garbage and recycling contract at their meeting on Tuesday.The council approved taking part in the Joint United Communities of Clark County Contract for bags/cans service for garbage collection and bin service for recycling collections with Advanced Disposal. The city will see an increase in the cost of garbage and recycling collection. After the regular Common Council meeting, the council held a quick Finance Committee meeting. It was this meeting that set their schedule for budget purposes throughout the beginning of October.
They also went over some basic budget items to keep in mind as they move forward, like insurance and the levy among other things, and they approved the current salaries and benefits package. Finally, they stated that all city departments should try and have no increase in their budgets this year.
