Tuesday, March 8th, 2005 -- 2:33 PM
A recent area crime has gotten the attention of PETA. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is demanding jail time and psychiatric intervention for the Neillsville man accused of engaging in lewd behavior with some area cows.We have not reported on the incident, but many media outlets have. In fact, the case against 63-year-old Harold Hart has received national attention, and now it's caught the eye of the animals rights group.
They've issued a press release today announcing they've sent a letter to Clark County District Attorney Darwin Zwieg urging ?vigorous? prosecution against the man they call an animal rapist. The letter further demands that stipulations of Hart?s bond include that he have no contact with animals for five years. Hart faces multiple charges stemming from his alleged contact with animals at a Neillsville-area farm.
