Owen-Withee School Board Meets New Staff

-The Owen-Withee School Board began their meeting on Monday by meeting their new staff members.Thank you to Cindy Schwab and Spenser, Matthew Nordgren, Eric Mann and Sheila Marg, their new staff members, for attending the meeting to be introduced to the board. And they provided an extra special thank you to Cindy for bringing pumpkin bars and candy for those in attendance. Also, it was stated that Rick Eloranta, Charlie Milliren, Angela Greschner, Julie Wendler and Kim Amacher indicated that they will attend the WASB Regional Conference on October 24th. Kim Amacher will be recognized for achieving Level I of the WASB member recognition program while Charlie Milliren will receive Level 2 recognition. Board members were also reminded of another conference and will let the District Administrator know if they wish to be registered. The board also approved the resignation of Josh Jalling as Head Golf Coach and thanked him for his efforts over the past couple of years to revive the district’s Golf program.
The board was also reminded of the Fall picnic being held on September 18th and that if they plan to attend they need to respond by Friday, September 13th. District Administrator Bob Houts presented the student enrollment, as they have it so far, for the 2019-20 school year. While the count doesn’t become official until September 20th, they are up a few students over last year’s numbers. Finally, Mr. Houts presented to the board that their Summer School Enrollment numbers are very similar to what they have been in past years. They will add 19 students to their enrollment for aid purposes this school year.
