Festival Foods Donates to Local Nonprofits

(Focus on Marshfield) -After learning of an urgent need for supplies from three area nonprofits, Festival Foods decided to do its part.The store is donating $500 in supplies to each The Hannah Center, Soup or Socks, and Shirley’s House of Hope. The Hannah Center, which houses and assists women in crisis, shared last week that its food supply was running low and received a great response from the community. Shirley’s House of Hope, a domestic violence shelter and addiction recovery resource, also decided on meat for its donation. It chose frozen chicken breasts to best serve its residents.
Food pantry Soup or Socks selected cold cereal and will pick up 34 cases, about 400 boxes worth, early next week. The pantry distributes 75-120 boxes per month and expects the cereal to last until Christmas, said Cheryl Lewis Hartl, Soup or Socks Director.
