(WRN) -September is Preparedness Month in Wisconsin, and Andrew Beckett with Wisconsin Emergency Management says it’s a good idea to have emergency supplies ready to go in your home."We want people to make sure they have a disaster kit available in their home that has key supplies. Things like water, non-perishable food, first aid kits, flashlights, extra batteries, any medications you may be taking. You want to make sure that those supplies are in a safe location that you can get to quickly and easily when they're needed. You want to make sure that those supplies are in a safe location that you can get to quickly and easily when they're needed. Maybe even having them in a small enough container that you can grab quickly if you need to leave quickly. And then in addition to that if you have pets you want to make sure you include supplies for them as well, since pets are part of your family."
