New Middle and High School Principal for Marshfield

Thursday, September 12th, 2019 -- 9:45 AM

(WDLB) -Both the Marshfield Middle and High Schools will get new principals, effective next week.

The Board of Education last night voted to accept the resignation of Marshfield High School Principal Jason Wilhelm, and promote current Middle School Principal Mike Nicksic to replace him. Superintendent Dr. Ryan Christianson says the last day for both in their current roles is Friday and Wilhelm starts his new job with the Beloit Public School District on Monday already. Christianson says Wilhelm's announcement came as a surprise, just one week into the new school year and he had to act quickly in response. Christianson adds that Nicksic is the right person for the high school job.

As for Nicksic's replacement at the Middle School, Dr. Christianson says the board is turning once again to retired Stevens Point Area Senior High Principal Mike Devine, who the district has used before to fill gaps on an interim basis. Devine retired as the SPASH Principal in 2015. Before that, he taught Social Studies in Rib Lake, then worked as a Social Studies teacher, the Athletic Director and then Assistant Principal at Baraboo High School.
