Neillsville City Council Re-Approves Sale of Industrial Park Land

Wednesday, September 11th, 2019 -- 1:14 PM

-The Neillsville City Council had a long list of items to approve at their meeting on Tuesday.

The council approved the sale of land in the industrial park. This item was actually reapproved from their previous meeting at the end of August. At their August meeting, the council approved selling a 3 acre parcel of land in the industrial park to Xcel Energy for $29,200. Xcel will be building a 2,000 square foot building and storage area. The item was also approved with the Economic Development Commission, but it did not get approval from the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission approved the item during their meeting on September 9th and the council reapproved it last night. The council also approved the use of the Town Square and closing of streets for the Neillsville Chamber Autumn Harvest Fest scheduled for October 13th.

The council approved the distribution of $57,400 in Listeman Funds. $6,000 will go to the library steps, $1,400 will go to Christmas decorations and $50,000 will go to the new housing incentive the Common Council approved at their meeting at the end of August. Finally, the council approved allowing Interim Police Chief Patrick Felhman to sell the old squad car at an auction and they approved the donation of a 2019 Dodge Ram 2500 Tradesman to the Neillsville Fire Department. The donation is worth $34,382 and it’s the result of the department’s steak feeds and other items.
